New customized software application enables integrators to easily modify Crestron Prodigy systems
PanTech Design, a leading provider of AV system design, control system programming and module development, has introduced EnvisageTM, a new software system that greatly simplifies the programming process of Crestron Prodigy® systems for custom integrators.
PanTech Design’s Envisage is a software platform programmed for the specific products in Crestron’s Prodigy product line, that allows integrators to easily modify system and product settings for the unique needs of the end-user. Integrators, both existing and those new to Prodigy systems, can now easily adjust settings and features, including menu layouts, global lighting settings, audio levels with integration to Prodigy tools, audio/video presets, searchable iPod and satellite radio metadata, and more.
Wired Version of the Multiple Award-Winning TPS-6X Wireless Touchpanel Now Shipping
Crestron today announced the release of the new Crestron TPS-6 6-inch tilt touchpanel, a wired version of the multiple award-winning TPS-6X wireless touchpanel introduced by Crestron in 2008. The TPS-6 features high-speed Ethernet connectivity, enabling full motion video display in a scalable or full-size window, so you can monitor a security camera or preview a DVD or television channel right on the touchscreen. The TPS-6 has the same sleek, contoured and lightweight tabletop form factor and all of the features of a docked TPS-6X or newly released TPS-6XNL.
“The TPS-6X was the most successful touchpanel launch in Crestron history, and got rave reviews for its unique, elegant design, extreme speed and graphics capabilities. The winners of the EMEA InAVation Awards were announced last night at the annual Integrated Systems Europe (ISE 2009) banquet held at the Hotel Okura, Amsterdam. Among the winners, the Crestron TPS-6X Isys® Wireless Touchpanel was recognized by the industry as the “Most InAVative Control Product for Residential Use.” The TPS-6X is a slim, lightweight touchpanel designed for speed and versatility. While docked, TPS-6X is a wired Cresnet or Ethernet panel that displays full-motion video; off the dock, it is a wireless 2-way 2.4 GHz RF with backlit button engraving that makes them easy to read in variable lighting conditions.

CE Pro and EH Publishing recently announced the 2008 CE Pro High-Impact Product (CHIP) of the Year Awards at EHX Fall in Long Beach, California. The latest Crestron touchpanel, the wireless Isys® TPS-6X, was among the honored products. Winners were chosen by custom residential integrators and readers of CE Pro.
CE Pro Editor-In-Chief, Jason Knott announced the winners at this year's awards presentation. "The CHIPs are unlike any other awards in the industry," said Knott. Crestron App Provides Fully Integrated Control From Apple® iPhone®
Crestron announces its control application for the Apple® iPhone® at CEDIA booth #301/SR-1. The Crestron control app will be available as a free download from the iTunes® App Store and provides seamless control of the home and office. Launch the Crestron app from the iPhone for complete control and management of home entertainment, AV presentation and environmental systems such as climate, lighting and shades. Control multiple locations from a single, intuitive graphical interface that provides real-time status of room temperature, lighting levels, shade position and digital media meta data such as volume, title and artist.
The Crestron Control App for iPhone is fully integrated with Crestron programming software including SystemBuilder™, VT Pro-e and SIMPL™. The app appears as a symbol in the Crestron data library, which can be dragged-and-dropped into the control program and uploaded to a Crestron 2-Series control system. Custom GUI designs and program settings are implemented exactly the same as with any other control module.
The new Crestron MLX-2 is a state-of-the-art handheld remote, featuring ZigBee® 2-way RF wireless communications. Its compact size and ergonomic design facilitate one-handed operation, while 57 programmable buttons and a large, easy-to-read LCD screen supports numerous custom menu functions. Intuitive, tactile control enables scrolling menus of channels, media titles, and numerous other commands. The Crestron MLX-2 also supports Windows Sideshow™ providing access to a wide-range of PC and Web-based content such as news feeds, sports scores, stock tickers, weather alerts, media guides, email messages, and appointment notifications.
The LCD screen on the MLX-2 can also display time and date, lighting levels, room temperature, and other real-time information drawn from the central control system. Bi-directional communication with the control system and other devices allows menu items to be updated dynamically, providing true feedback from AV sources for artist names and song titles; TV channels, for programming information; and even lighting and climate control presets.
GuiFX announced the release of a new control system design by Guiwerx called Versa. It’s available immediately for the Crestron TPMC-10, TPMC-8L/8T/8X, TPS-12, and TPS-6L/6X as well as for the AMX MVP-8400, NX(T/D)-1200V, NX(T/D)-1200VG, NX(T/D)-CA12, and NX(T/D)-CV12.
Versa has activity driven graphic menus. It also features fully programmed popup logic and dynamic image control, and pre-programmed live weather maps (if connected to the internet.) Unique to Versa are a built-in main page graphics customizer and virtual iPod color customizer. You can also customize the look with any background image.
Crestron TPS-6X redefines touchpanel design and delivers maximum control versatility
Designed for speed, style and extreme versatility, the TPS-6X is a 6-inch touchpanel that streamlines the Crestron family of panels, combining the features and functionality previously found in nine other models and making this the one perfect solution for almost any application. The iTControl software from InlineControl allows an AMX or Crestron Control System Programer to integrate iTunes and Frontrow running on a Mac Computer, into the control system TouchScreen. iTControl will allow the user to have 2-way control over iTunes, including: PlayLists Listing,Track Listing, Player Control and Shuffle Control. In addition iTControl will allow the user to emulate the use of the Mac IR remote in order to control Frontrow. The communication between the Control System and the Mac is done over IP using a dedicated port. The use of iTunes as a Media Server allows the user to have full advantage of the iTunes Store and play protected Content.
